As you may be aware the Australian Open of Surfing (AoS) will be held on Manly Beach from Saturday 11 February until Sunday 19 February inclusive. Manly Council and the event promotors expect to attract large numbers of spectators into the local area and specifically the beachfront vicinity to watch the surfing competitions and attend support events.

In order to better manage public safety and reduce the possibility of damage to NBVA equipment we have agreed to remove the volleyball nets for the duration of this event. The nets will therefore be unavailable from 1.30pm Sunday 12 February until after Monday 20 February.

NBVA Committee believe that this is a responsible decision and in keeping with our desire to work collaboratively with Manly Council and the Community in relation to management of the volleyball courts and surrounding facilities.
